No matter the time of year, birds are abundant at Bays Mountain, and in Spring there is a greater opportunity to see a variety of bird species as they travel through Tennessee after winter. Join park ranger staff for an early morning walk and challenge yourself with how many birds you can identify within an hour! There is no need to worry about being a young or novice birder, as participants of all ages and expertise are encouraged to attend. Not only does this activity help birders with their new years ID tally, but will also help BMP rangers monitor species inside the park and record important information regarding bird conservation, migratory population, and protection of local endangered species.
Registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and cameras, as well as water and hiking shoes. It is highly encouraged participants meet at the entrance of the Nature Center 15 minutes before the start of the program.
