Join us on a journey to the Red Planet — the farthest voyage ever made by humans. What does it take to make a two year mission to Mars, and back, successful? Discover the many challenges astronauts will face – and how creativity, communication and collaboration are essential for deep space exploration. This production looks into NASA research and training to address these critical needs. It also aims to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals!
This production is a collaboration by the Bell Museum & UNC Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. The work was funded by a NASA Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions (TEAM II) Award 80NSSC20M0028 to the Bell Museum through the Regents of the University of Minnesota.
The program is followed by a brief tour of the current evening sky using our Zeiss ZKP-4 optical star projector.
