Bays Mountain Park, located in beautiful Kingsport, Tennessee, is a 3500 acre nature preserve and the largest city owned park in the state of Tennessee. The Park features a picturesque 44 acre lake, a Nature Center with a state-of-the-art Planetarium Theater, and Animal Habitats featuring wolves, bobcats, raptors and reptiles.

The Bays Mountain Astronomy Club hosts this annual event for astronomy enthusiasts of all ages. Come and enjoy an exciting weekend of presentations, displays, interaction with other amateur astronomers and, of course, nighttime observing at the Bays Mountain Observatory.

Long Term Strategic Plan for Bays Mountain
The leadership of Bays Mountain Park and the City of Kingsport, Tennessee, recently completed an in-depth analysis of Bays Mountain Park. Much of the study was performed with the technical assistance and design help of PROS Consulting, LLC, and Tysinger, Hampton and Partners, Inc.
Special thanks go to the many residents, park users, and community leaders for their insight and support throughout the duration of this study.

Ropes Courses at Bays Mountain Park
Beginning Spring 2010, work will begin on three new facilities at the park: a Junior Ropes Course, Low Course Challenge Elements and an Elevated Ropes Course.
